How It Works

Simple for everyone.

Whether you need something done or you're ready to earn, here's exactly how Chores works: matching, communication, and completion.

1
Post or browse a job
Families create a listing with a title, category, pay, and zip code. Takes under two minutes. Students browse open jobs, filter by category, and apply to whatever fits their schedule and skills.
2
Apply & get hired
Students send a short message when applying. Families review each applicant, including their rating, jobs completed, and reviews, then choose who to hire.
3
Coordinate & get it done
Once hired, both sides message directly in the app to work out details: timing, specifics, anything that needs clarifying before the job happens.
4
Pay directly & review
Payment happens however works for you both: cash, Venmo, Zelle, whatever's easiest. No service fee, no middleman. Once it's done, both sides mark it complete and leave a review, building a real track record over time.

FAQ

Common questions.

Is Chores free to join?
Yes, completely free to create an account and use the app. There's no service fee on completed jobs. Families pay their worker directly, whatever amount you agree on.
How does payment work?
Directly between you and the other person: cash, Venmo, Zelle, whatever's easiest for you both. Chores doesn't process or hold any payments.
Who can sign up as a student?
Students verify with their real school email, which is how Chores confirms you're actually part of a licensed district's community.
Is my address shared publicly?
No. Job listings don't expose a poster's home address publicly. It's only part of the direct coordination between the family and the student they hire.
What if something goes wrong?
Every user can report or block another user directly in the app. Reports are reviewed by your district's admins, who can suspend an account if needed.
What schools does Chores cover?
Only districts that have licensed Chores. It's not a public marketplace anyone can join. If your school isn't on it yet, reach out from the footer below.
